Local marketing automation platform Goodzer has expanded its syndication of “service menus” to include Facebook. Service menus is Goodzer’s term for a list of merchant products and services.

Goodzer began as a local product inventory shopping site and then became a data supplier to third parties. It subsequently pivoted, using the same technology, to provide enhanced data distribution for SMBs to various consumer destinations, including YP, CitySearch, Yellowbook and now Facebook:

Goodzer uses its automated technology to amass hyperlocal, ‘enhanced’ product and service data – including detailed descriptions, availability, images and pricing – for over 2.5 million local businesses. The company then uses this data to create highly targeted marketing solutions that generate new customers who are ready to make a purchase decision. Goodzer’s free offering distributes this enhanced data in the form of Service Menus on behalf of local businesses to over 200 million mobile and online visitors per month – and has now expanded with Facebook.

The new Facebook integration allows merchants to publish their Goodzer-enhanced content on Facebook, which appears under a “services” tab, as pictured below.

There are also indexing and SEO benefits for the SMB in utilizing and displaying this data, as high-intent users search for specific services. However mobile is the place where this data will really shine.

Facebook is increasingly a force in local business marketing and ultimately will be in local search. The company now says it has 1.5 billion mobile users and 894 million daily active mobile users. Research conducted in 2014, from G/O Digital, found that almost 60% of consumers said they visited local business pages before buying offline.

Goodzer’s addition of Facebook to its distribution network makes a much stronger case for working with the company. It also offers a simple way for SMBs to get richer data into the influential social site.
