eeGeo‘s 3D mapping platform seeks to make mobile applications engaging. Based on a video game technology, the company’s maps have been used by companies such as Samsung and NTT Docomo.
To learn more, we caught up with Bart Denny, director of business development and product management at eeGeo:
What local problem(s) does eeGeo solve? How?
Reaching and engaging mobile users with a differentiated offering.
What makes eeGeo innovative?
Our background in video games give us unique map rendering capabilities, and our playful approach helps our partners hook users.
How does eeGeo make the local space better for advertisers and/or consumers?
Our maps are powerful storytelling tools. We have moving cars in the streets, planes, boats, etc. Companies can use these map animations to connect in a deeper way with users.
What is next in local?
The mobile revolution is still ongoing. Maps will evolve into an interface layer to the real world, letting people get more done, faster.
In terms of what is next for us, our new project StoriedCampus.com (video below) provides universities with rich campus mapping that connects the community, and helps university athletic, development and admissions departments reach young, mobile-only users.
